Proto-Semitic *GOL --- KLÜ Greek
This simple similarity is between two derived meanings , from the movement of water. The first is the basin in which one moves the water in order to clean clothes. The second one is the washing itself by moving the water. This is a secondary but with that certainly culturally important similarity.
Note:
- Proto-Semitic. There is no reason to suppose that this Hebrew word has been derived from a verb "galal" with the root "G L L" , as that root has been developed out of the older " G L" found also in entry " E 0402 Hebrew 0354). Besides, "G L L" has a sister root "G L G L ", seen in entry E 0995 (Hebrew 0359) . Certain is that the original root "* G . L" was used in Proto-Semitic. A classic old vowel " O " is probable.
Note:
- English “ klystron “ is the name for a scientific instrument, composed out of the above mentioned verb “ klüzo” and the last part of the word “electron “.
