Hebrew QERESH --- GERRON Greek
This is a far shot, but not to be neglected. The entry is narrowly related with E 0211 (Hebrew 0778), to which we refer. The result indicated by the Hebrew word is clearly linked to the concept of accurately cutting wood in order to use boards or the like for a construction.
The similarity between the roots is far from complete, as a Q is not precisely a G, and Greek does not have the third consonant SH that Hebrew operates. But Greek scholars tell us that the root of "gerron" is "*gers". And the so specialized identical meanings require attention notwithstanding these differences. The Greek word indicates also other structures of wood like sheds and is used to indicate shields.
